Wet Basement?
Foundation cracks are one of the most common causes of basement leaks. Even small cracks can allow groundwater to seep in, especially during heavy rain, snow melt, or freeze-thaw cycles common in the Durham Region.
If left unaddressed, foundation cracks can continue to widen over time, leading to recurring leaks, water damage, and increased repair costs. The good news is that most cracks can be repaired permanently without exterior excavation.
SIGNS YOU MAY HAVE A FOUNDATION CRACK
Water or dampness along a basement wall
Visible vertical or diagonal cracks in the foundation
Efflorescence (white powder) on concrete walls
Water leaking during heavy rain or spring thaw
Musty smells or recurring moisture issues
HOW WE REPAIR FOUNDATION CRACKS
We repair foundation cracks from the inside using proven injection methods that seal the crack completely. This approach stops water at the source and allows the repair to flex with normal foundation movement.
Because the repair is completed from inside the basement, there is no exterior digging, no damage to landscaping, and minimal disruption to your home.
Our Process:
Crack is cleaned and prepared
Injection ports are installed
Crack is sealed using a flexible waterproof material
Repair cures and permanently blocks water entry
- In cases where a foundation crack shows signs of structural movement, carbon fibre reinforcement may be recommended to stabilize the wall after crack repair.
What To Expect During The Repair
Most foundation crack repairs are completed in a single visit
Work is clean and contained to the repair area
Minimal noise and no exterior excavation
Clear explanation before and after the repair
You’ll always know exactly what’s being repaired and why.

Foundation Crack Repair
When searching for a Basement Waterproofing Contractor, it is always a good idea to understand what materials will be used to repair a leaking foundation crack in your cement wall.
The industry standard is either Epoxy or Polyurethane expanding foam. What’s the difference? Let’s find out.
Epoxy Foundation Repair
Epoxy Foundation Repair is more well-known of the two options, but not always the best solution. Epoxy has a very thin texture, very close to water.
The benefit of this it does very well in Hairline Foundation Crack Repair. Due to having a low viscosity, it can penetrate the crack very well, and once it hardens, it becomes harder than concrete.
The disadvantages of Epoxy is more product is needed to fix a wider crack, and due to long cure times, there is potential for the epoxy to drain out of the back side of the wall.
Under certain circumstances, an Epoxy Foundation Crack Injection is a great way to structurally fix Foundation Cracks.
Polyurethane Foundation Repairs
Do you have a Leaking Foundation Crack? If so, Polyurethane will become your best friend. For one, it reacts with water, expanding and filling the Foundation Crack within minutes.
The set time for Polyurethane foam can be within minutes, which means the leak will be plugged and set by the time we leave your home.
Due to the expanding nature of Polyurethane, it is preferred for larger cracks, which makes it more cost-effective for both the Waterproofing contractor and, in return, the customer.
We understand there can be a lot of choices when deciding how to fix a basement wall crack and what material to use, given the circumstances.
Carbon Fiber Foundation Crack Repair
Carbon fibre reinforcement is used when a crack is caused by inward wall movement or ongoing pressure. The carbon fibre straps are bonded directly to the foundation wall to prevent further movement and provide long-term structural stability.
We have fixed thousands of basements and have achieved a 5 star Google rating. We hope to make you our next happy customer.
Derek Snider20 January 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. It was the best of times,it was the worst of times. A leak found in our foundation on the day of our open house. We chose full disclosure to all prospective buyers. I called up John at Aquaphobia. John asked a few poinent questions and reassured me that solutions were available. I sent a picture, and with a phone call, John provided a detailed description of the problem and the solution. John arrived at the agreed upon time later that day. Then proceeded to do exactly what he said he would do. He saved the day. With a warranty to stand behind his work we were able to redo the paperwork for the sale of the house and proceed. All at a fair price. A written receipt described the treatment and my real-estate agent was satisfied that we had done our due diligence. Highly recommend. Jon was a tremendous help as we navigated a home inspection that required a foundation expert in very short notice. Jon rearranged his schedule to accommodate an evaluation/inspection the very next day after we spoke. His knowledge and experience was very helpful and gave us the piece of mind to purchase the property. Thanks again Jon! I called aquaphobia on thanksgiving weekend after finding water in my furnace room. Honestly I wasn’t even expecting someone to answer the phone given that it was thanksgiving weekend, and I just planned on leaving a msg hoping they would get back to me. Nope, answered the phone and were happy to help. They got me to send them some pics of the situation and we went on from there. Super helpful, knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. 10/10 would recommend especially to new home owners
